One of our innovation team's most important projects is the refinement of the IMD Pro technique. Based on the idea to combine the cost advantages of IMD and the decoration possibilities of insert moulding. After first tests, whose results influenced the series production already, we realized the potential of this new technique.

The BMBF research department for production engineering (supervised by „KIM“ Karlsruhe) showed great interest in the idea. Which made the project become part of the sponsored research project „KMU-innovativ“. That gave us the possibility to encounter and develop all new ways for IMD Pro in a very intensive and complex way. We will work on this project until 2012. With the results obtained so far we were able to set new standards for automotive interior design and reduce costs by around 40 % at the same time.
